The best way ,I have found, to use press molds, is to smooth out the surface of the clay. I used a tiny bit of WD40 with a paint brush and wiped most of it out, only the first time. After using it, clay residue acts as the release agent. Use enough clay to pull it back out and slice what you want off the hunk of clay.
