The glow from these mushrooms is called Foxfire or Fairy Fire. Ghost mushrooms were often mistaken as a mystical fire or a ghastly ghost when seen in the forest at night. Aristotle once described these mushrooms as being like a cold fire because of how bright they glow. Ghost mushrooms can emit green, blue, and/or yellow light.
