Today is the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s summertime! 😎 Earth orbits at an angle. Solstices happen twice a year, at the points in Earth’s orbit where this tilt is most pronounced. Half the year the Northern Hemisphere is tilted toward the Sun — making it summer. The other half of the year, the Northern Hemisphere is tilted away from the Sun making it winter.
