Police said a Connecticut man on the deadly weapons offender registry was found with a gun after he tried to run from a traffic stop in Norwalk.

Norwalk police said 20-year-old Niza Clarke of Stratford, who is on parole, was found in possession of a gun during a traffic stop on Wednesday.

Norwalk police say officers observed 20-year-old Niza Clarke, who was the passenger in the car, attempt to run from the scene during the traffic stop.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on firearm charges in Norwalk, police said. According to police, on Monday around 6 p.m., officers located a man police held a search warrant on related to an investigation on Connecticut Avenue.
