The United States Geological Survey reported a preliminary magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck near North Hollywood on Sunday night. The quake hit at 10:13 p.m. PST at a depth of 15 kilometers, just over an hour after the 2025 Academy Awards had concluded at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

A 3.9 earthquake was reported Sunday night as being centered 1 mile from North Hollywood. The U.S. Geological Survey received reports the quake at 10:13 p.m., east southeast of North Hollywood, was felt from Palmdale south into Orange County at a weak intensity.
