KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) has launched a new ropes program for SWAT officers. KCPD said the program will help officers in rescue operations, such as negotiator responses on rooftops and bridges.

A city inspector visited the Family Dollar store shortly before it collapsed. Another neighbor also said it looked like the building had a "structural issue."

The inspector found an open, moldy can of mango pulp in the refrigerator of this Indian restaurant off of 119th Street. There was no soap at the main handwashing sink and the handwashing sink in the dessert section had been removed.
