Detroit Police Chief James White has been named the president and CEO of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network.
Detroit police chief to resign for top job at state's largest mental health organization
White was selected in a unanimous vote by the board of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network to lead the organization. He replaces Eric Doeh in the role, who resigned in June after accepting a job as the Michigan market CEO and plan president for insurance giant Humana Inc.

"(They will be) inheriting a great police department and I am going to be here with the transition," White said. "It won't be when I leave, I'm just done. I'm only a phone call away."
