France and Germany had stand-in forwards to thank for wins over fierce rivals in the Nations League on Monday. With Kylian Mbappé again absent, Randal Kolo Muani started up front for France and scored in each half in a 2-1 victory away to neighbor Belgium.

Germany secured a place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over old rivals the Netherlands on Monday, while France won in Belgium and Italy continued their recent revival.

France won in Belgium, but Italy remain top of UEFA Nations League League A2, while Germany are sure of a quarter-final place.
