Ford announced the creation of a new production process and platform to help it bring its next EV to market in 2027.

Ford is betting that affordability will win out with its $30,000 EV pickup and is skipping all of that fancy truck stuff that most buyers won't use anyway.

Ford confirmed that a midsize pickup truck will be the first production model to use its new Universal EV platform, but the automaker has yet to unveil it.
