The baseball world lost a legend on Monday, as longtime Chicago Cubs second basemen and Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg passed away at the age of 65. Sandberg, the 1984 National League MVP, a 10-time All-Star and a nine-time Gold Glover, was known as much for his elite hitting and infield defense as he was for his quiet leadership and pleasantness.

Baseball Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg, a longtime Chicago Cubs star who was one of the game's greatest-ever second basemen, died on Monday at age 65.

Sandberg played 16 MLB seasons for the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs and was a 10-time All-Star, one-time MVP, nine-time Gold Glover and seven-time Silver Slugger.

Andrew Vaughn hit a grand slam and had a career-high six RBIs as the surging Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Chicago Cubs 9-3 on Tuesday night.
