The city of Milwaukee has a new fire chief after the Fire and Police Commission unanimously appointed Acting Chief Aaron Lipski the official chief of the Milwaukee Fire Department.

He was named Milwaukee's chief in 2010 after serving as the leader of the Rapid City, S.D., Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Before that, he worked for the Omaha, Neb., Fire Department.
