Israel’s air campaign on Iran’s capital appeared to broaden on the fourth day of an intensifying conflict as U.S. President Donald Trump posted an ominous message warning residents of the city to evacuate.

President Trump returned to Washington on Tuesday to deal with the war between Iran and Israel, as the two sides exchanged deadly fire for a fifth day and Israeli officials pressed the United States to join its military campaign against Tehran.

Blasts have been heard in Tehran and sirens have sounded in Israel as US president convenes National Security Council.

Elsewhere, the Foreign Office advises against all travel to within 20km of the border with Libya, which is on the western side of Egypt, far from Israel and Gaza. The only exception in that region is the town of El Salloum, where the Foreign Office advises against all but essential travel.
