Newcastle United are set to welcome back Alexander Isak for the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion but Callum Wilson may miss out.

Eddie Howe is still confident Callum Wilson can return to fitness and make an impact for Newcastle United following his injury troubles.

The Newcastle head coach will assess his other options and the returning international stars but Miguel Almiron has been the last through the door after Paraguay duty. Howe said:

Kieran Trippier will miss the remainder of Newcastle United’s October fixtures with a hamstring problem, but Alexander Isak is set to return against Brighton & Hove Albion. Trippier was forced off in the 71st minute of Newcastle’s 0-0 draw at Everton before the international break and will be out for “a few weeks”,

Newcastle United will be hoping to be boosted by the return of some key players from injury following the international break.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that Alexander Isak is set to be involved this weekend against Brighton, and Callum Wilson is close to a return. Isak has been out with a broken toe for three games but has been back in training and is due to return to the Magpies team as long as he comes through training with no problems on Friday.
