Lindsey Vonn’s return to ski racing at age 40 with a new titanium knee has come with an added bonus for the American.

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy (AP) — Sitting in the middle of the Cortina course following her second fall in four days at the resort where she once dominated, Lindsey Vonn slammed the snow angrily with her right pole.

Lindsey Vonn was the victim of a crash in Italy and suffered some bruises during downhill training for the World Cup on Thursday. Vonn, an accomplished skier and one of the sport’s most celebrated, took a spill just before the end of the practice but escaped serious injury.

Sofia Goggia solidified her status as the favorite for another downhill gold by winning Saturday for the fourth time on the course for next year's Olympics.
