Walgreens is set to close five locations across Los Angeles and Orange counties in the coming weeks as the struggling retailer moves ahead with a downsizing that will see around 1,200 closures nationwide.

A spokesperson said the company plans to "redeploy the majority of our team members from those stores that we close."

Walgreens will close stores in Hartford and New Haven, citing regulatory and reimbursement pressures impacting costs.
