The company's effort to deliver gigabit speeds to Starlink users will also harness a wider range of radio spectrum, according to a new FCC filing.

Elon Musk's satellite internet company told the FCC that a few tweaks to its “orbital configuration and operational parameters” could result in nearly 10 times faster downloads.

At the time, The FCC called Starlink a "nascent" technology with "recognized capacity constraints" while pointing to falling speeds and a $600 up-front cost (which has since been lowered ). SpaceX and CEO Elon Musk have continued to criticize the FCC for denying the grant.

The internet satellite network wants FCC permission to tweak some technical specs to achieve broadband-fast data speeds, which could change how remote businesses use the internet.
