SAN FRANCISCO — Rafael Devers made one point abundantly clear ahead of the Giants’ three-game series against his former team: He was not interested in talking about the past. Did Devers want to leave the Boston Red Sox? “ That’s in the past. Those are not decisions that I control.”

Devers finished 0-for-5 with one strikeout and a flyout that reached the warning track. The Red Sox also went on to win the game 7-5 with Ceddanne Rafaela's solo homer in the top of the sixth breaking a 5-5 tie. While the 28-year-old battled his former team, fans discussed his change of scenery.

San Francisco Giants star Rafael Devers went hitless Friday in his first game against his old team, the Boston Red Sox. Devers was, of course, traded just last Sunday from the Red Sox to the Giants as part of a five-player swap that included pitchers Kyle Harrison and Jordan Hicks and outfield prospect James Tibbs.
