Tottenham have been boosted ahead of their crunch Europa League semi-final tie against Bodo/Glimt this week after Lucas Bergvall signed a new long-term contract. Spurs announced on Tuesday night that the Swedish midfielder, 19, had put pen to paper on a fresh deal lasting until the summer of 2031.

Tottenham suffered their 19th Premier League defeat of a miserable season on Sunday, as Liverpool clinched their 20th English league title with a commanding 5-1 victory over Ange Postecoglou’s side at Anfield.

Bergvall rejected an offer from Barcelona to join Spurs from Swedish side Djurgarden in February 2024 for £8.5million.
