Button is widely considered one of the greatest figure skaters of all time. He was the first American skater to win an Olympic gold medal in 1948 and repeated as Olympic champion in 1952, after he successfully landed the first double axel and triple jump in competition.

The two-time gold medalist continued to share his love for figure skating throughout his life, even becoming a TV analyst for the sport.

Dick Button, the two-time Olympic gold medalist in men's figure skating (1948 and 1952), has died at age 95. He was also known as a longtime figure skating commentator for ABC Sports and later NBC Sports.
