Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) stood up during the closed-door House Republican meeting to tell President Donald Trump that while she was campaigning with him across the country, she never heard voters demand a higher cap to deduct state and local taxes, an issue moderates in blue states care about.

President Trump visited the Capitol in an attempt to unify divided House Republicans on the multitrillion-dollar budget package that is at risk of collapsing before planned votes this week.

Republicans say the 1,000-page-plus bill is what voters sent them to accomplish. Critics say it adds to deficits while harming poor Americans.
