New York City Mayor Eric Adams has decided to run his re-election campaign as an independent, abandoning the Democratic primary, he told Politico on Thursday.
The move comes after a federal judge dismissed bribery charges against the mayor.
Two Republicans who have served as Central New York lawmakers are considering whether to challenge Rep. John Mannion in next year’s election for the 22nd Congressional District seat.
The lawsuit argued Trump overstepped constitutional bounds when he issued an executive order on voter ID requirements and reforming mail-in voting systems.
