The Twins have shut down righty Zebby Matthews due to right shoulder strain. Minnesota placed Matthews on the 15-day Injured list on June 8, after an MRI revealed a moderate subscapularis strain, according to The Star Tribune.

Just a couple of days after the Minnesota Twins lost Pablo Lopez to a shoulder injury, the recently recalled Zebby Matthews hit the injured list, as well. Just like that, half of the Twins starting pitchers (2/4) who took the mound last week in Sacramento against the Athletics are now on the IL.

The Twins this morning placed right-hander Zebby Matthews on the 15-day Injured List with a right shoulder strain. Matthews, 25, was recalled from Class AAA St. Paul on May 18 and has made four starts for the big league club, going 1-1 with a 5.21 earned-run average. He has fanned 25 and walked eight in 19 innings.
