Comedian Patrick Kielty’s description of Sinn Féin as “traitors” on RTÉ’s Late Late Show was “miles away from satire” and should prompt an apology from Ireland’s national broadcaster, a party TD has said.

Sinn Féin has called on Irish state broadcaster RTÉ to apologise after Late Late show presenter Paddy Kielty used the term "the Sinn Féin traitors" during Friday night's broadcast. During his opening remarks, Kielty, who is from County Down, said the "hunt is on for people to take part in the Irish version of the hit reality show, The Traitors".
