The Powerball jackpot increased again after it remained unclaimed, but one lucky person won a couple million on Christmas.

The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $1.15 billion for Tuesday's drawing - the fifth largest ever - with a cash option of $516.1 million, according to the Mega Millions website.

A Powerball ticket sold in New Jersey won $2 million, but just missed the $124 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched five winning numbers and the Power Play, but not the Powerball, in the drawing Wednesday, Dec. 25, the national Powerball site said.
