Duke Energy imploded a boiler house around 9 a.m. at the Old Gallagher Station in New Albany, according to New Albany Police.

As part of the decommissioning process of Duke Energy’s now retired Gallagher Station in Floyd County, Indiana, a controlled implosion of the facility’s boiler house took place Saturday morning.

The boiler house at Duke Energy's Gallagher Station came down at 9 a.m. as part of a controlled implosion. A loud boom was heard around the area when the implosion happened. A dust cloud was visible around the plant after the implosion, but dissipated soon after.
