Morgan Stanley is working on a plan to add cryptocurrency trading to its E*Trade platform, in what would be the most significant move by a major US bank to help everyday customers buy into the asset class since the Trump administration began removing regulatory barriers.

Banking giant Morgan Stanley is looking to bring cryptocurrency trading to clients through its E*Trade platform, according to a report Thursday.

Shares of Morgan Stanley MS rose 1.16% to $116.76 Thursday, on what proved to be an all-around great trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index SPX rising 0.63% to 5,604.14 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA rising 0.21% to 40,752.96.
