There is one name that isn't so obvious who has a shot to make the New York Yankees roster this season.
They made two cuts on Tuesday, catcher/first baseman Abrahan Gutierrez and pitcher Alexander Cornielle. Both players were reassigned to the minor-league camp. On Tuesday, the Yankees reassigned outfielder Yanquiel Fernandez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The New York Yankees played the waiver game well and were able to keep this power-hitting outfielder in the organization.
