Snow is expected to continue into the evening tonight in Rhode Island.
A winter storm warning has been issued for the entire state at the biggest storm in years starts in Rhode Island.
With a major snow storm predicted to hit Rhode Island starting Sunday, Jan. 25, cancellations have been pouring in.
The state's eight cities require property owners to clear their sidewalks.
"Travel will be difficult, especially Sunday night into Monday morning when accumulation rates will be highest," the weather service said.
Snowfall is expected to continue at the rate of about 2 inches an hour, possibly 3 inches, before tapering off between 11 p.m ...
The storm was expected to drop between 5 and 8 inches on the region, all told.
School districts around Rhode Island are already canceling in anticipation of a major winter storm Sunday into Monday.
