Judge orders grand jury material to be given to Comey, citing "disturbing pattern" of DOJ missteps
A federal magistrate judge wrote that there is a "disturbing pattern of profound investigative missteps" in the case involving former FBI Director James Comey.
The request to dismiss the case came after Lindsey Halligan acknowledged she had never shown a final version of the indictment to the entire grand jury for a vote.
The Sept. 25 grand jury transcript “conclusively refutes” that there was an issue with the voting process, prosecutors said.
The judge also appeared puzzled after a lead prosecutor said he couldn’t reveal whether career attorneys initially recommended against charging the former FBI director.
