The Trump administration said Monday it has provided seven separate classified briefings on US military strikes on alleged drug boats, even as lawmakers have said they have not received the information they want.
The Trump administration won’t tap emergency funds to pay for federal food benefits, imperiling benefits starting Nov. 1 for nearly 42 million Americans who rely on the nation’s largest anti-hunger program, according to a memo obtained by POLITICO.
The USDA says the contingency funds aren't "legally available" to pay for food aid benefits expected to lapse in November for about 42 million people - 1.4M in Michigan.
The admission comes as the White House faces a series of legal challenges in its efforts to deploy guard troops in Portland, Los Angeles and Chicago, Democratic-led cities where it has intensified immigration enforcement and crowd control tactics by federal agents.
