Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will hold a severe weather briefing and press conference Wednesday afternoon, according to his office.

Gov. Greg Abbott said the volume of rain pummeling Texas and flash flooding in the last 24 hours is greater than the rainfall and flooding that occurred July 4, 2025, in the Hill Country.

According to the Office of the Governor, Abbott has also issued a disaster declaration for 59 Texas counties as severe storms continue to threaten the state.
