The SEC took center stage in Week 12 with a pair of battles between College Football Playoff contenders, and the results of those ranked showdowns redefined the AP Top 25 poll for Week 13. Oklahoma and Georgia climbed closer to the top of the national pecking order with victories that kept them squarely in postseason contention.

The end is near, but college football delivered another exciting weekend of games with a couple of unexpected upsets and incredible comebacks. The No. 3 Texas A

The top three teams in The Associated Press poll — Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M — are prohibitive favorites in their games Saturday, and most of the attention will be on No. 10 Texas' game at No. 5 Georgia and a couple other Top 25 matchups. Not to be overlooked, though, is the situation in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Texas A&M maintained its standing in the top three after a comeback win over South Carolina, while Texas Tech moved up two spots to No. 6. Oklahoma is also in the top 10 after its upset of Alabama. Meanwhile, Texas fell to No. 17 after its stumble on the road at Georgia.

However, when they face UConn, Michigan certainly can prove that they are worthy of voters’ high regard. Big 12 teams moved up a combined 13 spots in the AP poll, while West Virginia debuted at No. 23. No conference member slid from their prior spot, either.
