COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Air National Guard is alerting residents that they may hear fighter jets after dark this week as the 169th Fighter Wing conducts scheduled night flying operations.

Virgin Islanders will experience increased aircraft noise and activity starting today due to a major training event hosted by the 169th Fighter Wing, the V.I. National Guard announced Tuesday.

If you live near McEntire Joint National Guard Base you may hear increased aircraft noise in the evening. The 169th fighter wing is doing night flight training.
