Tim Story knows a thing or two about bringing opposites together. From Ride Along’s odd-couple cop antics to Think Like a Man’s ensemble charm, the filmmaker thrives on pairing distinct personalities and letting sparks fly.

In a world where those concepts were included, however, Prime Video’s new action-comedy The Pickup would be the pictured and heavily cited example, because wow, what an exercise in unexpectedly rampant disappointment.

The Pickup stars Murphy and Davidson as a pair of armored truck guards who get blackmailed by a sleek thief, played by Keke Palmer, to conspire on a complicated heist. Action and comedy collide as this odd couple of co-workers is thrown way out of their comfort zone, with hilarious results.
