Lady Vols basketball assistant Bill Ferrara pitched a new recruiting strategy to coach Kim Caldwell before she even hired him this spring.

The Lady Vols took down the Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday to advance to Tennessee's fourth straight Super Regional. Star pitcher Karlyn Pickens was dominant for the Lady Vols in the win.

For the fourth straight season, the Lady Vols are off to a Super Regional. Tennessee picked up a 5-1 win against Virginia in the regional final to advance to next weekend’s round of 16. The Lady Vols will host Georgia at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium for the Super.

Lady Vols senior pitcher Karlyn Pickens made her first start Sunday since April 25 against Alabama and threw all seven innings for the first time since her no-hitter at Kentucky on April 11. Pickens allowed four walks and hit two batters, but she only gave up two hits while striking out nine.
