Former Coventry City boss Mark Robins is ‘close’ to being appointed as the new Stoke City manager, according to talkSPORT. Coventry made the eyebrow raising decision to part ways with Robins earlier this season and brought in Frank Lampard as his replacement.

Stoke City are in advanced talks with Mark Robins and hope to name him as manager in the next 48 hours. Robins has emerged as Stoke’s No 1 target to succeed Narcís Pelach and negotiations are ongoing with the Championship club and his representatives.

Mark Robins is emerging as the clear favourite to become the next Stoke City manager. The 55-year-old has topped the shortlist ever since the departure of Narcis Pelach on Friday evening and is now believed to be in pole position to take on the vacancy, just under two months after ending a long stay at Coventry.
