One person is dead after a shooting Sunday evening in downtown San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter, according to the San Diego Police Department. A police official said a suspect had been arrested. The shooting was first reported around 5:20 p.m. and occurred on Fifth Avenue, between G and F streets.

San Diego Police are investigating a homicide in the Gaslamp Quarter after a person was fatally shot in a bar. One suspect is in custody.

The suspect was identified by the police department as 37-year-old Bryan Tyner from San Diego. Tyner was arrested for the shooting and will be booked into the San Diego County jail on one count of murder. Officers are processing the scene and interviewing witnesses, the release said.
