The third round of the U.S. Open on June 14 at the Oakmont Country Club will begin at 9:12 a.m. when Philip Barbaree tees off as a single player, due to an odd number making the 7-over cut. The last twosome of leader Sam Burns (3-under) and J.J. Spaun (2-under) will tee off at 3:35 p.m.

Through 36 holes at the U.S. Open, Sam Burns already has made 11 birdies, matching the number winner Dustin Johnson made for the entire 2016 Open.

Sam Burns capped his second-round, 5-under 65 with a 22-foot par save on his final hole. Burns ran into trouble off the tee at the par-4 ninth, his 18th, and took a penalty-stroke drop into the fairway.
