Milder temperatures are forecast throughout the remainder of the week in North Texas, with a cold front expected to breeze through the region Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said the next couple of days will have highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s with mostly sunny skies.

Temperatures are dropping in Texas on New Year's Eve ahead of next week's polar vortex, which will bring snowfall to much of the United States.

A polar vortex could be headed to North Texas next week, bringing a blast of Arctic air that may send temperatures below freezing.
