The National Weather Service says Canadian wildfire smoke will return to Michigan Monday. Residents in northern Michigan should take precautions.

Wildfires continue to burn across a massive area in Canada, particularly in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Michigan firefighters are in Canada helping fight some of the more than 700 active wildfires in the country, WPBN/WGTU reports. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has sent multiple crews by helicopter to remote locations in Canada, the report said. Firefighters work 17 to 20 days before returning home.
