The Mets won against the Marlins despite Sean Manaea 's pitching implosion in the sixth inning. The offense attacked early against Sandy Alcantara, and Manaea pitched well for the first five innings. The bullpen held up their end for the most part, and the result was a final score of Mets 7, Marlins 5.

Miami stranded two runners in scoring position in the seventh but drew to within 7-5 in the ninth when Joe Mack and Marsee hit back to back doubles with one out off Kodai Senga, who entered 0-9 with a 7.11 ERA and six saves. Owen Caissie and Kyle Stowers then struck out against Senga to end it.
