Skeletal remains were found near the Burden Pond/Burden Falls area in South Troy Sunday evening, according to Troy Police.

The RCMP are investigating the discovery of human remains in the water outside Placenta Bay on Saturday. RCMP say the remains were found on Saturday morning by a commercial vessel working in the area and were taken to the Port of Argentia where they were turned over to Placentia RCMP.

Michigan State Police arrived on scene and recovered the remains, which were in two halves — a top half and a bottom half in another portion of the river — near Pershing Street in Wayne, according to the TV station. The remains were transported to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office. They hve not been identified.
