Affected Google services included Search, Meet and Nest as well as Workspace which handles many cloud based apps like Google Documents and Google Drive. Everything peaked with all of the various apps and services peaking above 10,000 reports on Down Detector.
Google reported that Google Cloud Platform (GCP), its popular cloud hosting service, experienced a problem Thursday afternoon.
Google Cloud had a worldwide outage for several hours. Amid a recent string of recent outages among other technology platforms — such as ChatGPT — Google acknowledged its Cloud shutdown and provided an incident report on June 12, 2025. According to Google Cloud’s status site, the platform updated users at 12:41 PT, 3:41 ET on June 12.
