The union said workers voted by 84% on Saturday to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement covering more than 400 workers. In addition to pay increases, the contract includes profit-sharing and cost-of-living adjustments for the first time at Detroit Axle, according to a news release.

REDFORD, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - The United Auto Workers members at Detroit Axle have ratified a contract with Daimler Truck of North America, the union reported .

The UAW reported Saturday that the 400 workers at the Daimler Truck Detroit Axle plant had voted to ratify a new agreement while releasing scant details of the contract.

Detroit Axle is part of Daimler Truck. Workers, who are represented by the UAW, say they make about $10 less an hour than others at the same plant.

Workers voted by 99 percent last week to authorize a strike to win substantial raises, better retirement benefits and equal wages with Detroit Diesel workers.
