Opening arguments in the trial of Christopher Schurr, who is charged with second degree murder in the fatal shooting of Patrick Lyoya, began in a Michigan courtroom.

The jury watched cell phone video of Grand Rapids police officer Christopher Schurr fatally shooting Patrick Lyoya in the back of the head during a traffic stop.

Three years after Patrick Lyoya was fatally shot by a Grand Rapids police officer, a trial began April 28 for former officer Christopher Schurr. Schurr faces one charge of second-degree murder, to which he's pleaded not guilty.
