MLB News: Tarik Skubal Cy Young, MVP Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Scott Boras, Emmanuel Clase
The biggest awards have now been handed out in baseball, and one of them just increased Tarik Skubal’s free agency value. On Wednesday, the Cy Young Awards were announced, and Tarik Skubal (of course) won for the second year in a row, while Paul Skenes of the Pirates won for the NL.
Ohtani’s MVP seasons are wildly distinct, appropriate given his vast skill set. In 2024, he won his first NL MVP with an unprecedented 54-homer, 59-stolen base campaign. A year later, he ran less – but made a triumphant return to the pitching mound.
Maybe Judge can win two more MVPs to take a 5-0 lead on Jeter. It would be fitting, since Jeter leads 5-0 in World Series championships.
According to Kalshi, the flagship prediction market in the United States, Aaron Judge has a 94 percent chance of winning the award, putting him well ahead of Seattle’s Cal Raleigh, who is sitting at seven percent. The odds that Judge and Raleigh are named co-MVPs are currently listed at six percent.
