R-Truth's quick return to WWE involved direct negotiations with one of the company's top executives. Fightful Select (via Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported Truth initially seemed to be a little reticent to engage with WWE in the days after his exit. However, "things opened up" when WWE president Nick Khan entered the picture.

R-Truth is expressing his gratitude to the WWE Universe and clearing the air about what really went down this week regarding his contract situation with the company. The former United States Champion was informed last week that his WWE contract would not be renewed and that he would soon become a free agent.
